The honey bee is Maine’s state insect. They are an integral part of the ecosystem helping give Vacationland its vast beauty and biodiversity. Uniquely, the pine cone and tassel is the Maine state flower. In the winter, pine cones retract their scales to protect against cold weather and hungry critters. During the warm spring and summer months pine cones open up to release their seeds for germination. The ebb and flow of daily life with these two beings help to create balance.

Honey bees may not actually pollinate pine cones in the wild, but they do here at Maine Green. To us this design symbolizes the delicate nature and serenity that can be found around every corner in the stunning state that we love.
